Arthur Leclerc (Prema Powerteam and FDA driver) did not disappoint with a late effort in the closing minutes of first qualifying that saw him set the best time (1.30:269), with teammate Gianluca Petecof just behind, having led for most of the session and just being pipped to pole by a mere 60 thousandths of a second. Third was Juri Vips (KIC Motorsport, Red Bull Junior Team), who was also very close to the pole time in 1.30:350. Jamie Chadwick (Prema Powerteam) was the only other driver to get into the 1.30s.
Session two went the way of Leclerc once more (1.29:789), with Vips again snapping at his heels, just 0.034 second behind. Petecof was third this ime, just 0.116s behind. Leclerc’s second fastest time was enough to give him a clean sweep of poles for the meeting, 1.29:909 giving him an advantage of 0.010s over Petecof.
Race 1 will take place on Saturday afternoon starting at 13.40 local time, with live coverage on motorsport.tv, MS Motor TV (Sky 218 channel) and live streaming on the acisport.it website and on the Facebook page of the championship.
