There was a very Italian air to both qualifying sessions of the Italian F4 Champioship powered by Abarth. Minì (Prema Powerteam) lived up to expectations and set the best time in both sessions (1.35:121, 1.34:537), and was ahead of Pizzi (Van Amersfoort Racing) in both instances, the latter setting times of 1.35:160 and 1.34:652). In third position in the first session was Fornaroli (Iron Lynx) with an excellent effort (1.35:197) and in qualifying 2 Rosso claimed 3rd (1.34:752). It was impressive as well to note that all four of these drivers are rookies.
Sebastian Montoya (Prema Powerteam), son of former F1 driver and Indianapolis 500 winner Juan Pablo, also performed well with a nice fourth place in session 1, while teammate and Ferrari Driver Academy member Dino Beganovic was fourth in the second session.
On Saturday the start of race 1 is scheduled for 14.30 local time with live coverage on Motorsport.tv, MS Motor Tv (Sky 218 channel), and live streaming on the acipsort.it website and on the Facebook page of the championship.
