In the first qualifying session, Arthur Leclerc, the Monegasque driving for Prema Poweteam immediately set the pace and seemed to have it sewn up, much as he did in Misano, where he claimed all 3 pole positions. With an excellent 1:58.205 he was ahead of Juri Vips (KIC Motorsport) with 1:58.280, and his teammate Gianluca Petecof (1:58.316). However, the Brazilian thought otherwise and set an incredible time in second qualifying, with a lap record beating time of 1:57.446. Behind him was Leclerc, with a 1:57.583 and then Pierre-Louis Chovet, with a 1:57.706. Each driver’s second fastest time determines their place on the grid for race 3 and that also went to Petecof.
Race 1 will start at 11:05 local time on Saturday with Race 2 at 18:20, with live streaming broadcast on the championship Facebook page, on the acisport.it website, and live TV on motorsport.com and MS Motor TV (Sky channel 218).
