Gianluca Petecof (Prema Powerteam) started race 2 from pole and made an excellent getaway, while behind him his teammate Arthur Leclerc stuck like glue to the Brazilian’s exhaust, never more than a second adrift for the entire race. The gap reduced to under 4 tenths, but the Monegasque never quite managed to unleash a proper attack on Petecof, who for his part put in an impeccable drive, shutting down every opportunity Leclerc might have had.
Behind them, with a small gap, but more than a second, the battle was between Pierre-Louis Chovet (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Juri Vips (Red Bull Junior Team driver, KIC Motorsport). The Estonian driver launched a sensational attack on the Frenchman and overtook him after several corners in which their cars were side by side and it looked as if neither of them would finish.
The race ended with victory for Petecof, followed by Leclerc, Vips, Chovet, Rasmussen and Pasma.
Tomorrow, race 3 starts at 11:20 local time, with Petecof once more starting from pole in front of Leclerc, so there is another battle in prospect.
