Gianluca Petecof decisively kept team-mates Oliver Rasmussen and Arthur Leclerc behind him at the start and then stretched out a gap to claim victory. Alessandro Famularo and Jamie Chadwick also performed well.
The Brazilian (Prema Powerteam) increased his grip on the championship lead, and he knew that whoever took the lead on the first lap would probably hold it for the whole race. He had the bit between his teeth from the first corner, resisting very aggressive attacks from his teammates, Leclerc and Rasmussen.
Despite two Safety Car periods, the Brazilian showed his maturity in retaining the lead. The victory means he has increased his championship lead, which now seems to be within his grasp.
There were impressive performances too from Alessandro Famularo (Van Amersfoort Racing) with an amazing fourth place, and from Jamie Chadwick (Prema Powerteam), finally getting to show her potential with a nice fifth place finish.
The next meeting takes place in Mugello on the weekend of October 4th.
