on

After several races in the top positions, but without a victory, the American Van Amersfoort Racing driver, Jak Crawford, who is also part of the Red Bull Junior Team, took his first win. Bearman was an excellent second, while Minì was a determined third.

At the start Minì was immediately attacked by Crawford, but resisted and held onto the lead. Over the next few laps Crawford, Edgar and Bearman fought it out behind the Italian. Suddenly, thanks to slipstreaming, Crawford and Edgar managed to attack Minì and sandwich him, with the Italian forced to lift to avoid an accident. The result was that Crawford, Bearman and Edgar all passed the Italian.

An accident further back led to the deployment of the Safety Car. At the restart, the order stayed the same. Meanwhile, the winner of race 1, Joshua Duerksen, recovered place after place having started 7th, and was soon on the offensive against Minì who resisted.

The order now stabilized and Crawford stretched out his lead, with Bearman behind, while Edgar hit problems and was passed by Minì, who was able to escape the clutches of Duerksen.

Pietro Delli Guanti had a great race, making up places, with several excellent overtakes, including on Pizzi and Rosso, the latter then making a mistake and spinning off onto the grass.

The Rookie standing saw Bearman finish first, ahead of Minì, Beganovic and Delli Guanti.

Race 3 will start this afternoon at 15.05 local time.
