You wouldn’t really call Gabriele Minì a Rookie, so it’s not surprising perhaps that the talented Italian Prema Powerteam driver, and member of the ACI Team Italia, is tightening his grip on the title. He won race 3 after a tenacious and mature drive where he resisted the advances of Joshua Duerksen all the way to the flag, despite Duerksen being the fastest driver on the track. The Muecke Motorsport driver in fact started from sixth and moved up to second, overtaking Bearman, Edgar and Crawford in sequence. Only the eventual winner and championship leader Minì managed to keep Duerksen behind for any length of time.
“It was hard, first with Crawford and then with Duerksen, to keep the lead, but also an excellent result for the championship,” commented Minì.
“It was umpossible to overtake with the turbulence of the wake that made the car understeer first, and then oversteer,” explained Duerksen.
The next round of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth takes place on the F1 circuit of Mugello on the weekend of 4th October.
