2020 Formula Regional European Championship – Rasmussen and Leclerc Top The Times

On the Tuscan track the two PREMA drivers shared the three available poles between them, while Petecof struggled to get on terms with the two leaders. Vips and Lappalainen were also on the pace.

The PREMA Powerteam drivers are always at the front of any battle, but this time also saw excellent performances from the KIC Motorsport runners, especially in the first qualifying session. The result was that Oliver Rasmussen was one pole for race 1 with a time of 2:00.084, just 0.036 seconds ahead of Juri Vips (KIC Motorsport), and Vips’ teammate Konsta Lappalainen with a lap of 2:01.204.

In the second session Arthur Leclerc (PREMA Powerteam) was fastest in 1:57.486, ahead of Rasmussen (1:57.991) and the championship leader Gianluca Petecof (1:58.800). Patrik Pasma (KIC Motorsport) and Pierre Louis Chovet (Van Amersfoort Racing) also did well, finishing in sixth and seventh respectively in Qualifying 1 and fifth and sixth in Qualifying 2.

With the grid for Race 3 decided by the best second fastest lap overll, Leclerc netted a second pole ahead of Rasmussen and Petecof.
