The Brazilian Prema driver was fastest in the official tests at the Monza circuit, ahead of team mates Rasmussen and Leclerc, with an excellent fourth place going to Chovet. The first seven were extremely close.
Gianluca Petecof tried to regain his confidence by taking the lead in the official tests at the Monza circuit where he was fastest on the day, on a circuit that remained dry despite the changing weather conditions. With a time of 1:46.907 in the fourth and final session of the day, the Brazilian beat his teammates Oliver Rasmussen, by 41 thousandths of a second, and Arthur Leclerc, championship leader after his masterful performances in Mugello, by 68 thousandths of a second. Pierre-Louis Chovet, of Van Amersfoort Racing, also did very well, just 147 thousandths off the leader. Among other things, it should be noted that the three behind Petecof achieved their best times in the second session of the day.
However, the drivers were very close all the way through to 7th, where Alessandro Famularo (Van Amersfoort Racing) was only 0.263 seconds off the best time of the day. In front of the Venezuelan driver, were the KIC Motorsport pair, with Konsta Lappalainen sixth with a time of 1:47.166 and Patrick Pasma who lapped in 1:47.163.
The weapons are therefore primed for this weekend at the Monza temple of speed for the fifth of eight rounds of the 2020 championship.
