The Euroformula Open Winter Series starts at Circuito de Jerez in Southern Spain with a two day test session that sets the scene for an exciting and competitive season ahead, which will see the Euroformula Open strengthening its position among single-seater formulae. This first Winter Series test brings a share of interesting novelties and has managed to attract a star-studded field of twenty-two cars.

RP Motorsport, last year’s champion with Vitor Baptista, will enter five cars in Andalusia. Thailand’s Kusiri Kantadhee and the duo formed by Polish drivers Igor Walilko and Antoni Ptak were confirmed by the team led by Niki Rocca and Fabio Pampado in recent weeks and are joined by Italian-born racers Damiano Fioravanti and Matteo Ferrer, who will drive the team’s remaining two cars.

Campos Racing, which already announced Mexican Diego Menchaca, Ecuadorean Julio Moreno and Italian Leonardo Pulcini for the 2016 Euroformula Open, will have a fourth car for Germany’s young ace David Beckmann to firm up its full-season driver lineup.

Teo Martín Motorsport will run four cars, with Tatiana Calderón, Nikita Zlobin, José Manuel Vilalta and Petru Florescu sharing driving duties. Calderón, Zlobin and Vilalta are joined by Florescu to for a full-season assault on the Euroformula Open.

Carlin, the British stalwarts confirmed their participation in the Euroformula Open in January and plan a three-car lineup throughout the season. Carlin will field three Dallaras in Jerez, with Ameya Vaidyanathan making his debut in the series this week.

DAV Racing will enter two cars in Jerez. Kang Ling will be at the wheel of one of Matteo Davenia’s car havingn committed to full 2016 season last month. A second car will be driven by South African Sisa Ngebulana.
