Misano Race 2 Sees Schumacher Win

The race started under safety car rules due to a thunderstorm which began shortly before the start. There were numerous overtaking manouevres and dramatic changes, especially between the second and tenth position.

It was once again Mick Schumacher (Prema Power Team) first past the finish line at Misano. Starting in pole position, the German driver was first from start to finish, managing the advantage he gained in the first few laps. He always seemed to have the situation under control, despite the critical conditions early in the race.

A great comeback by Dutchman Van Uitert (Jenzer Motorsport), who slipped to 12th place under the Safety Car rules due to a spin while warming up his tyres. It was a mistake that, however, did not deprive him of the possibility of snatching second place with three laps to go. He also achieved the fastest lap in 1:51.005.

Third place on the podium went to Diego Bertonelli (RB Racing) who got everything right and had even reached second place. Newcomer Juan Correa (Prema Power team) came fourth, with Frenchman Hasse Clot (Kiteviola Motorsport) behind him. After a comeback, the very fast Baiz (Kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport) came sixth. He started in tenth place, then slipped to 12th, only to then make his comeback.

Speaking of comebacks, the most dramatic was that of Diego Ciantini (Jenzer Motorsport), who gained 13 places, from 23rd to 10th.

The Rookie Trophy was won again by Juan Correa, ahead of Fabio Scherer (Jenzer Motorsport) and Lorenzo Colombo (BVM Racing).

The Woman Trophy, a ranking dedicated to the ladies, was won by Fabienne Wohlwend (Aragon Racing).

The race was run on wet tyres by all the drivers, even if the track dried during the rounds, since the storm began just before the start and ended after a few minutes.

Tomorrow’s programme has the 3rd Race (Group A versus Group C) at 12.15 pm. The Finale, which will see the participation of the best 36 drivers (based on the results of the first three races) is now scheduled for 5.45 pm.
