Another SMP F4 NEZ Drivers Joins the Red Bull Junior Team

The news is out today. Dr Helmut Marko, Red Bull Motorsport consultant has signed another SMP F4 NEZ driver today. Fifteen years old Dutch driver Richard Verschoor will be racing under Red Bull Junior Team’s colours in 2016.

After the 2015 SMP F4 NEZ winner Niko Kari, who’s been signed after snatching the title, it’s another North European Zone driver’s turn to proudly represent the energy drink brand.

“I have been asked for a meeting in Red Bull hospitality after the 2016 SMP F4 NEZ first round in Sochi. And I clearly did not expect Helmut Marko to ask me to join the Red Bull Junior Team. It’s a huge honour and after my last race in Sochi which I did not finish, I was not even thinking about something like this. Red Bull Racing scouts good drivers and bring them to the top, so it’s an amazing opportunity to be part of that family. Now I have to focus on my season and my goal is to win the 2016 SMP F4 NEZ Championship certified by FIA, then we will see what the future is made of. I will give everything I have to show Helmut Marko that I deserve his trust,” commented Richard Verschoor.

Dr Helmut Marko commented : “We are very happy to have signed another quick Dutch Driver. Richard Verschoor is a young man with great potential.”

The young driver from the KNAF Talent First Program, is currently sitting second in the overall classification will be competing in front of his home crowd this weekend during the second round of the 2016 SMP F4 NEZ Championship certified by FIA in Circuit Park Zandvoort.
