Three car line up for Autumn Trophy

Carlin will enter the upcoming Duo BRDC British Formula 3 Autumn Trophy at Snetterton with three cars consisting of James Pull, Enaam Ahmed and Cameron Das. The Autumn Trophy, a one off event to round off the season, will see a total of four races and two qualifying sessions as well as two test days in which the field can get up to speed in the Tatuus-Cosworth BRDC British F3 cars.

Pull, who has spent the season competing with Carlin in the British Formula Four championship will make his return to the British Formula Three car following an impressive display at Donington at the final round of the 2016 season. Pull made his debut alongside vice champion Ricky Collard and finished the third race of the weekend sitting nicely in the top ten. Pull has also tasted victory this season as a championship contender in the British Formula Four Championship where he claimed two victories and eight podiums.

Pull said of his second British Formula Three race, “I can’t wait to drive the BRDC British Formula Three car again. It’s great to be back with Carlin and I’m hoping to prepare myself for the season ahead with some results in the Autumn Trophy.”

Joining Pull in the car will be Ahmed who is no stranger to the BRDC Formula Three car having finished fifth overall in the 2016 standings. Ahmed has impressed with his speed in his debut season claiming a win at Snetterton during the opening round of the season. Ahmed has been racing hard elsewhere in the Euro Formula Open Championship alongside his British Formula Three duties and finished the most recent round in Monza in the top five of both races.

Ahmed said of the upcoming race, “I’m really looking forward to driving with Carlin for the Autumn trophy! The tests I’ve done with the guys so far have been positive and I love working with them as they show full commitment to win together. It’s going to be an intense weekend with a lot of driving but we have the pace to do well. For now we are just keeping our heads down and getting on with the job in hand.”

Completing the line-up is American racer Cameron Das who has enjoyed a hugely successful season across the pond in the Formula Four United States Championship. Das, just 16, finished the 2016 season with nine wins, 14 fastest lap times and 11 poles – claiming the most out of all his competitors. Das dominated proceedings to finish the season as champion with a healthy 65 point lead over his nearest competitor.

Das said of the Autumn Trophy, “I’m very excited to be participating in this year’s Autumn Trophy. I believe British Formula 3 is the right next step for me after F4 United States. The competition is fierce, and the car will require me to learn more advanced techniques. I think it will be a challenging, yet rewarding race weekend at Snetterton.”

The three racers will take on the challenges of Snetterton this weekend over the course of the two qualifying sessions and four races. Thursday and Friday will also feature track time for the drivers to get up to speed with the car in preparation for the weekend.
