Scott (RP Motorsport) wins closing race at Paul Ricard

Briton Scott takes lights-to-flag triumph in race two. Troitskiy (Drivex) sealed second place beating Vivacqua (Campos Racing) after last-lap pass

Great Britain´s Harrison Scott dominated in style Euroformula Open´s Winter Series race 2 at Circuit Paul Ricard. In another race hit by rain, Scott leaped into the lead on lap one ahead of Thiago Vivacqua (Campos Racing), Nikita Troitskiy (Drivex), Jannes Fittje (Fortec), Ameya Vaidyanathan (Carlin), Devlin DeFrancesco (Carlin) and Petru Florescu (Campos Racing). Unfortunately, race 1 winner Yan Leon Shlom (Fortec) was forced to retire on opening lap.

Scott worked to build a solid gap and managed to pull away from the rest of the field, followed by Vivacqua, Troitskiy and Fittje. Both Troitskiy and Fittje did put up a truly strong fight for 3rd place but finally the driver of Drivex was slightly quicker and opened up the gap.

With a five-second lead, Scott was out of reach for Vivacqua and Troitskiy. But the latter, closing on the car in front, still passed Vivacqua for second on the very last lap. Thus, Scott, Troitskiy and Vivacqua filled the podium.

Behind, Fittje finished fourth and the two cars of Carlin driven by Vaidyanathan and DeFrancesco took 5th and 6th place finishes. Florescu took the chequered flag in seventh place. Eliseo Martínez and Javier Cobián, with two Teo Martín Motorsport-entered Dallaras, came 8th and 9th. Simo Laaksonen (Campos Racing) rounded off the top-ten ahead of his teammate Matheus Iorio and Christian Hahn (Drivex). Ludovico Laurini and Kane Shepherd, the young pairing of RP Motorsport, and Pedro Cardoso (Teo Martín Motorsport) also made it to the finish line.
