Sophia Flörsch Ahead in Second Practice

The 16-year-old ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV driver took the lead in the second free practice session of the ADAC Formula 4 at Oschersleben. Her time of 1:26.213 minutes put her ahead of Fabio Scherer (17, Switzerland, US Racing) and Felipe Drugovich (16, Brazil, Van Amersfoort Racing) and also assured her of the fastest time so far this weekend in the Motorsport Arena. Swiss driver Scherer set the best time of the morning’s first session with a 1:26.879.

In this second session, driving for Kerpen-based US Racing, the 17-year-old was 144 hundredths of a second down on Flörsch, who led practice for the first time in her ADAC Formula 4 career. Drugovich was only marginally slower.

The leading trio were followed home by Frederik Vesti (15, Denmark, Van Amersfoort Racing), Jonathan Aberdein (19, South Africa, Motopark), Juri Vips (16, Estonia, Prema Powerteam), Juan Manuel Correa (17, USA, Ecuador, Prema Powerteam), Marcus Armstrong (16, New Zealand, Prema Powerteam) and Lirim Zendeli (16, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV). The ADAC Formula 4 juniors will get down to the serious business of qualifying today at 4.20 pm when the first quali of the season takes place in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Their best times will decide positions on the grid for the first race of the season on Saturday at 12.00 noon, and their second-fastest times will determine grid slots for the second round later at 3.45 pm.
