Troitskiy (Drivex) Masters Wet Conditions to Take Pole Position

The young Russian ace took his second pole position in the series ahead of Scott (RP Motorsport), the Fortec duo of Shlom and Fittje, and Vaidyanathan (Carlin).

Nikita Troitskiy (Drivex) managed to grab Sunday’s pole position at Autódromo do Estoril, which took place in wet weather conditions. Troitskiy edged Harrison Scott (RP Motorsport) in the battle for pole position. Scott clocked the quickest time (1:46.342) early in the session but, at the end, Troitskiy lowered the reference time further with his 1:46.332, which was a mere ten-thousandths of a second quicker. The pole also gave Troitskiy an extra point.

Behind, Yan Leon Shlom and Jannes Fittje secured an all-Fortec second row. Ameya Vaidyanathan (Carlin) took 5th place on the starting grid and Alex Karkosik (RP Motorsport) was sixth to start alongside him. Thiago Vivacqua and Matheus Iorio took seventh and eighth for Campos Racing. Devlin DeFrancesco (Carlin) and Simo Laaksonen (Campos Racing) snagged the final spots in the top ten.

Race 2 will take place at 12.15 (local time).
