Nick Rowe Evens Up Home Ground Advantage

Karratha’s Nick Rowe was fastest in the second practice session for Round Three of the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship at Barbagallo Raceway. The AGI Sport driver just edged ahead of Team BRM’s Cameron Shields by 0.0783 seconds in warmer conditions compared to this morning’s opening practice.

New Zealander Liam Lawson was third fastest but remarked how the warm conditions affected tyre grip at the notoriously abrasive Barbagallo track surface. JRD’s Jordan Mazzaroli was the first driver to encounter the fine sand traps, and after finishing fourth in Practice One, Mazzaroli scraped through to round out the top ten in the final practice session. The drivers will qualify for tomorrow’s opening race from 2:00pm AWST, with today’s pole position winner to receive a $500 Virgin Australia flight credit prize.
