Sacha Fenestraz Racks up the Points
French-Argentinian racer Sacha Fenestraz was happy to take some well-earned points after a difficult weekend in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup (May 12-14). The 17-year-old Josef Kaufmann Racing driver put on a strong performance to finish fifth from a ninth-place start in the first race at Silverstone.
Disappointingly, contact forced him to retire early in the second race when a podium place looked on. But after a brilliant double podium in the last round, it was still enough to see his quest for silverware remain on track as he went third in the Championship.
The ADD Motorsports-supported racer said: “It was a pretty good weekend overall, but two moments in qualifying and the second race contact, cost me. The speed was there and I was really happy with my performance to come fifth from my starting position in the first race. Obviously to be forced to retire in the second race was disappointing, but you get these weekends when things don’t go your way. I just need to go again next round and put it behind me.”
